Petrosains (and Sains is Malay for Science) in Kuala Lumpur is an exciting, contemporary, informal learning science centre that engages everyone, young and old, creating wonder through discovery and learning. It provides a rich, fun and stimulating environment to enhance literacy as well as the appreciation for society, building future talent through the science of energy.
Children especially above 7-12 years will love it as it has several dozen science related activities ranging from doing experiments to play with robots. Also, there is one section on oil drilling. These activities are super engaging Even 3-4 hours is not sufficient if one gets engaged in all activities. It is important to carry some food and water as there is one cafe in later part of this place but it has limited menu. One is allowed to carry food and water but you can eat or drink in only certain areas only. Great place for science and children.
It's open Tuesday to Sunday, 9.30 to 5.30 (6.30 at weekends and public holidays), and open on Mondays during public and school holidays. Admission for Malaysian is RM8 for children (up to 12), RM20 for adults (13 and up), RM10 for senior citizens. Admission for non-Malaysians is RM18 for children, RM30 for adults, RM15 for senior citizens.
